Non-compliance with greenhouse gas rules threatens businesses, warns expert
Business owners could face financial penalties if they fail to adhere to EU rules on greenhouse gas emissions from air conditioning equipment, an expert has warned.
On365.co.uk, a specialist infrastructure and utility services firm, reports that inspection rates of air conditioning units are running at lower than 5%, compared to rates of between 70% and 75% for buildings' energy performance certificates. EU rules state that air conditioning systems above 12 kilowatts must be inspected by 4 January 2011. Firms could face prosecution by their local authority if they fail to comply.
