The Government has announced the introduction of the Groceries Code Adjudicator (GCA) to enforce the Groceries Supply Code of Practice (GSCOP). The GCA will deal with complaints about the way supermarkets treat farmers and other suppliers. It will have the power to step in to "prevent unfair practices" and ensure a fair deal for producers.
