Home Secretary Theresa May has announced a major overhaul of the Licensing Act in England and Wales and has set out a range of possible measures that have been put forward for consultation.
Home Secretary Theresa May has announced a major overhaul of the Licensing Act in England and Wales and has set out a range of possible measures that have been put forward for consultation. These include banning the sale of below cost alcohol, increasing alcohol licence fees, charging a fee for late-night licences and making it easier for local communities to have a say on local licensing. The consultation runs until 8 September 2010.
