FSB issues tax warning for new self-employed
The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) has warned anyone who is newly self-employed that HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) may try and treat them as employed for tax purposes if they work for a contractor for a prolonged period of time.
The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) has warned anyone who is newly self-employed that HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) may try and treat them as employed for tax purposes if they work for a contractor for a prolonged period of time. The FSB's warning comes as it predicts that 300,000 people will start their own business this year. It has called on HMRC to "cease their tactics in pushing people into the PAYE net".
