Business responsibility could reduce need for waste regulation
The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) has said it wants to work towards businesses having an increased, voluntary responsibility for waste and recycling, which will mean less red tape for firms.
A Defra spokesperson said that businesses should be encouraged to dispose of waste responsibly, rather than be penalised for non-compliance with regulations.
