Bank holds interest rates despite inflation fear

The Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) has held interest rates at 0.5% for the 18th consecutive month, which has led some economists to predict rates will remain at that level until April 2011.

The Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) has held interest rates at 0.5% for the 18th consecutive month, which has led some economists to predict rates will remain at that level until April 2011. The MPC also voted to leave the £200 billion quantitative easing programme unchanged.
