Government speeds up plans to raise men's retirement age
The Government has announced it will speed up its plans to increase the state pension age for men.
Ministers plan to raise the state retirement age to 66 and hope to introduce the change as early as 2016. The default retirement age of 65 is also set to be scrapped. The British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) warns that such a move could damage businesses' ability to manage their workforce.
