Retailers call for end to "unjustifiable" bank charges on card payments
The British Retail Consortium (BRC) has urged the Government to force the banks to stop levying "unjustifiable" charges on retailers who accept credit and debit cards.
The call comes as the BRC publishes its annual Cost of Collection Survey, which shows that the cost to a retailer of processing a credit card is 16 times higher than the amount to process cash.
