Established firms shun trading with start ups

Nearly a tenth of established businesses say they would not trade with start up firms less than a year old because of fears about their financial stability, according to research by credit solutions firm Creditsafe.

Existing firms are instead looking to trade with businesses that have established credit and financial histories, putting the financial security and development opportunities of new businesses at risk. Creditsafe spokesman David Knowles said: "There is a danger we could choke the fledgling economic recovery if companies refuse to trade with start ups purely on the basis that they are a new company."
