UK inflation hits 17-month high

UK inflation grew again in April to hit a 17-month high of 3.7%, according to the latest figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS).

The Consumer Prices Index (CPI) shows that inflation is now at its highest rate since November 2008. In particular, food prices have risen sharply as a result of rising transport costs. Fuel costs have increased by more than 25% since November 2008.
