Scrap minimum degree requirement, say students
Employers have been urged by students and graduates to scrap the minimum requirement for a 2.1 degree for some job vacancies.
A poll, carried out by careers website Milkround.com, shows that more than half of respondents would like the requirement to be scrapped, claiming that suitability for a job cannot be judged solely on the class of someone's degree. Many graduate employers use a minimum 2.1 degree as a benchmark for recruitment.
