Loyalty cards don't create customer loyalty, says survey

Retailers' loyalty card schemes do not encourage customers' loyalty to a particular retailer, with only 17% of shoppers saying they choose where they shop based on their loyalty cards.

Research by YouGov shows that 93% of consumers said they would still shop somewhere even if the store scrapped its loyalty card scheme.
