Government must exclude banking levy on small business lending, says bank
The new coalition Government must exclude lending to small businesses from its proposed banking levy, a representative from Aldermore bank has claimed.
The Conservative/Lib Dem coalition has pledged to introduce a levy on banks as part of a major overhaul of the banking system, aimed at preventing another global financial crisis. However, Aldermore, a new British bank specialising in lending to small and medium-sized businesses, is calling on the Government to exclude lending to small businesses from any levy on banks.
