Fit notes need publicity, say GPs
Fit notes need to be publicised through a publicity campaign aimed at employers, the British Medical Association (BMA) has urged.
The chairman of the BMA has said that GPs also need to be careful that they do not make recommendations for patients that they are unqualified to make. Meanwhile, a survey of employers by health service provider Aviva UK Health reveals that only 5% believe that the new fit notes will cut rates of sickness absence.
