EU parliament urges charter of consumer Internet rights

The European parliament has called for a charter of consumers' rights to be introduced so that Internet users can request their information is removed from businesses' systems.

The call comes after the parliament launched a new digital strategy, entitled 2015.eu. The strategy outlines its aims for Internet policy over the next five years. One of the aims is to allow consumers to request their personal details to be removed from systems, even if it has been collected with the consumer's consent.
