Charities flouting minimum wage law, claims union

Some charities are flouting the law and not paying the National Minimum Wage (NMW) to staff who sleep over as part of their caring duties, the union Unite has claimed.

Members who sleep over and are needed to carry out work during that time are entitled to receive the NMW, according to Unite. It goes on to claim that some employers are continuing to ignore this.
