Quarterly growth data revised upwards
The Office for National Statistics (ONS) has revealed that UK Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew by 0.4% in the fourth quarter of 2009, faster than the previous estimate of 0.3%.
The revision is due to growth in distribution, transport and business services. Overall, GDP in 2009 shrank by 4.9% year on year, compared to an increase of 0.5% in 2008.
