National Minimum Wage to increase from October
The rates of National Minimum Wage (NMW) will increase from 1 October 2010.
The new rates are £5.93 per hour for workers aged 21 and over, £4.92 per hour for 18-20 year olds and £3.64 per hour for 16-17 year olds. The Government has also introduced a minimum wage for apprentices, which is £2.50 per hour, and will apply to apprentices who are under 19 or those aged over 19 and in the first year of their apprenticeship.
