Equality Bill passed in House of Lords

The Equality Bill has passed a third reading in the House of Lords, which is the last stage at which it can be amended before it becomes law.

The Bill, which requires businesses to report on gender pay gaps and bans age discrimination, will now undergo final consideration in the House of Commons before it receives Royal Assent. The Bill also includes a ban on employers asking for health and disability information before making someone a job offer.
