Cider and broadband taxes scrapped

The Government has shelved plans to introduce a 10% tax rise on cider and a broadband tax of 50p per month.

Ministers announced that the measures are to be postponed until after the election because of a lack of time before Parliament is dissolved, but Labour said it would press ahead with the changes if re-elected.
