Skills shortages a worry for UK firms, report says
UK employers claim that skills shortages remain one of their biggest worries, according to research by the Alliance of Sector Skills Councils.
Two-thirds of those questioned said that Government investment in education is not well targeted to the skills needs of their sector. One trade association said that, in the facilities management sector at least, there is funding chaos in the Apprenticeship and Train to Gain schemes.
