Government urges restaurants to make tipping policies clear

The Government has launched a campaign to encourage restaurant owners to make their tipping policy more transparent to customers.

The Government has launched a campaign to encourage restaurant owners to make their tipping policy more transparent to customers. The 'Who Gets the Tip? campaign comes after research by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) shows that nearly two-thirds of diners don’t know where their tip goes. BIS is calling for more businesses to adopt its voluntary Code of Best Practice on Service Charges, Tips, Gratuities and Cover Charges.
