Economic growth revised upwards
The increase in Gross Domestic Product (GDP) during the fourth quarter of 2009 has been revised upwards, from 0.1% to 0.3%.
The Office of National Statistics reports that output in both the production and manufacturing industries rose, by 0.4% and 0.8% respectively. Growth in the distribution, transport and business services sectors was strong, but construction output fell by 1% during the quarter.
