Some of the UK's business organisations have formed a coalition to protest against the increase to employers' National Insurance Contributions (NICs). The 1% increase to NICs, which will take effect from April 2011, should be scrapped according to the coalition, which includes the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC), the FSB, the Forum of Private Business (FPB) and the Confederation of British Industry (CBI). It has launched a petition against the NIC increase, which it calls a "tax on jobs".
