Small firms unaware of apprenticeship legislation
Small business owners could face a legal minefield if they are unaware of legislation relating to taking on apprentices without appropriate insurance, according to a report by price comparison website Coverzones.com.
The report claims that up to 50% of business owners are unaware that apprentices are legally classed as the same as full-time employees and employers could be fined up to £2,500 per day for taking on apprentices without appropriate insurance cover.
