Some firms to see business rates double
Thousands of businesses will see a dramatic rise in their business rates, according to a report in The Telegraph.
The forthcoming change to business rates in April will see the rateable value of some business premises increase by up to 700%, the report claims. The worst affected will be livestock markets, filling stations, pubs, restaurants and shops. However, workshops and factories should generally see their business rates fall.
