Six-month deadline for firms to replace wireless payment technology
Businesses that use wireless card payment technology have only six months to replace old systems under the requirements of the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standard (DSS).
The DSS was changed in 2008 to prohibit the use of wireless technology, which transmits card details via mobile card terminals to a central system. Firms have until June 2010 to change their wireless systems.
