Recovery will mean uneven level of start up activity
It will take years for some UK cities to recover from the recession because of the low level of entrepreneurship and business start ups in particular towns and cities, a think-tank has forecast.
Centre for Cities has published 'Cities Outlook 2010', which predicts that certain cities that have a population with a high level of education and entrepreneurship will find it easier to recover from the recession than cities without this type of population. For example, the report states that places like Newport will struggle due to the fact that it has 28.8 business start ups per 10,000 residents, while the national average is 44.4 start ups.
