MP to recommend supermarket ombudsman

An MP from Wales has said he will introduce a Private Members' Bill that could lead to the creation of a supermarket ombudsman.

Albert Owen MP said the Bill would enable the implementation of the Competition Commission's recommendations for an ombudsman to mediate between supermarkets and their suppliers. An NFU spokesperson welcomed the move, which "should bring this long-running saga to an end".
