Introduce alternative to cheques, urges FPB
The Forum of Private Business (FPB) has recommended that an alternative to cheques must be introduced before cheque payments are phased out of use.
The Payments Council announced last week that all cheque payments will be phased out by 2018. The FPB said that the banks must come up with "a third way" of making payments, as half of its members still use cheques and rely on chequebooks to make payments.
