Broadband tax could hit small firms
The Government's proposed broadband tax could hit the pockets of small businesses, a Treasury report has claimed.
The report, entitled 'Implementing a Landline Duty: consultation on draft legislation and impacts', says there could be "an imperfect relationship" between the size of firms and the amount of duty they pay. For example, small businesses with multiple lines will pay more than larger firms who have fewer, larger connections.
