Small firms losing out on commission due to complicated referral systems
Small businesses are missing out on commission payments because they believe referral schemes are overly complicated, according to a survey by business Internet provider Easynet Connect.
The study, entitled 'Credit where it's due - cashing in on the referral economy', reveals that small businesses recommend an average of £270,000 worth of business every year without earning any commission. Around 38% of respondents who regularly recommend other businesses said they would not set up a formal commission arrangement because they thought it would be too complicated and time-consuming.
