Lobbyists call for small business 'skills passport'
Lobbyists in the West Midlands have called for an overhaul to training for employees in small and medium-sized firms.
Business Voice WM, which represents businesses and trade associations in the West Midlands, told attendees at a House of Commons West Midlands Select Committee meeting that the Government's current approach to training is too "packaged". It called for the introduction of a 'skills passport', which employees can take between jobs, and would allow businesses to provide only the aspects of training they actually need.
