Government proposes increased maximum penalty for data misuse
The Government has launched a consultation on its proposals to increase the maximum penalties for those who are convicted of misusing personal data, which could mean up to two years imprisonment.
The consultation is open to both individuals and representative bodies and will close on 7 January 2010.
