Tax handbook doubles due to increased "burden of compliance"

The publisher of the UK Yellow Tax Handbook reports that the publication has doubled in size between 1997 and 2009 and cites the increasing complexity of the tax system as the reason.

A spokesperson told Accountancy Age magazine that there has been "a tremendous increase in the pages of legislation" and the Government must work toward "removing unnecessary complexity". The Yellow Tax Handbook is a guide to all the legislation relating to taxes in the UK and is published annually.
