Investigation into payment times begins
The Forum of Private Business (FPB) is undertaking a mass Freedom of Information (FOI) exercise to determine how long councils and health trusts take to pay their small business suppliers.
The exercise began in earnest last week and will see the FPB contact more than 700 organisations in a bid to establish their payment practices. It follows the Government's announcement that its departments pay the majority of their small suppliers within ten days.
