HMRC issues warning on tax refund scam e-mails
HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) is warning taxpayers about a wave of scam e-mails that tell recipients they are entitled to a tax refund.
Fraudsters have been sending these e-mails for some months, but HMRC warns that the latest spate use a fake .gov.uk Government e-mail address. The e-mails tell recipients that in order to claim a tax refund they should fill out an online form or click on a link to complete a refund request.
