Half of small business owners unaware of Government financial support
Research from the Asset Based Finance Association (ABFA) has revealed that over half of the small businesses it surveyed are unaware of the Government's schemes to support small firms.
Some 56% of firms said they had not heard of the Enterprise Finance Guarantee Scheme, the Working Capital Scheme or the Capital Enterprise Fund. Kate Sharp, chief executive of the ABFA commented: "Over the last few years, the Government has stepped up to support UK SME organisations through various schemes. Unfortunately, there is a severe lack of understanding among this group about what financial support is actually out there. If they don't know about the schemes, how can the Government help them?"
