Carbon Trust to launch scheme to cut small businesses' energy bills
The Carbon Trust is to launch a scheme to help small businesses cut their energy bills by replacing old equipment with newer, more energy-efficient models.
The scheme, entitled 'Big Business Refit', will launch this month and will take the form of an interest-free loan scheme. Up to £100 million in loans will be made available to businesses that have less than 250 employees and turn over less than £42 million a year. The scheme is expected to save small firms around £40 million.
