Low-paid apprentices receive increase to minimum payment

The Government claims that those working in traditionally low-paid sectors, such as hairdressing and social care, will benefit most from the increase. Apprentices are exempt from the National Minimum Wage (NMW) but are entitled to a minimum weekly payment.
