Free access to public sector contracts not enough, say business owners

The Government's decision to give firms free access to its database of public sector contracts is not enough to help small businesses win more work, according to business owners.

Speaking to The Telegraph, one business owner said that the decision to scrap the subscription fee for the supply2.gov.uk website would make little difference to a "tortuous" tendering process that is "a waste of time". A spokesperson for the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) added that there is still work to be done in making the process "less time-consuming and bureaucratic".
