Changes to trade mark fees due to come into force
The Intellectual Property Office (IPO) has made a series of changes to the process for registering trade marks, which will come into force from 1 October 2009.
The changes include the introduction of the 'Right Start' service, which will allow businesses to defer half of the £200 application fee until the IPO has confirmed the trade mark can be registered. The IPO will also introduce an e-filing initiative, which means that trade mark applications filed online will benefit from a £30 discount.
