FSB urges health minister to help small firms through flu pandemic

The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) has urged the Government to adopt proposals designed to help small businesses through the swine flu pandemic.

The FSB suggests reimbursing the smallest firms for paying their employees statutory sick pay and stopping what it calls "unnecessary" routine business inspections during the pandemic. According to the FSB, a small business with three employees could see its entire workforce off work for up to two weeks during the autumn.
