Employers' failure to protect employees from swine flu could lead to lawsuits

Employers who do not protect their employees from contracting swine flu at work could face lawsuits, lawyers have warned.

Staff who can prove that they caught the illness at work could make personal injury claims under health and safety legislation, Personnel Today magazine reports. A lawyer told the magazine that an employer is "obliged to provide a safe working environment" and if they breach that responsibility, they may be liable for personal injury claims.
