Trade body warns of shortfall in Scottish licensing applications

The Scottish Beer and Pub Association (SBPA) has warned there is a "significant shortfall" in the number of licence applications to sell alcohol under new laws that come into force in September.

The SBPA says that 11,200 applications have been received by Scottish licensing boards; however, there are around 17,000 licensed premises in the country.
