Red tape costing small firms £12 billion every year
Efforts to comply with regulations are costing UK small firms around £12 billion every year and require an average of 37 hours a month, according to the Forum of Private Business (FPB).
Research by the organisation shows that employment law, health and safety and tax are the costliest areas of compliance, while small firms with between 10 and 49 employees spent 48 hours complying with regulations.
