Less than a third of firms credit check new customers
Only 27% of UK small firms are carrying out credit checks on new customers, research has revealed.
Cattles Invoice Finance's (CIF) annual business survey reveals that nearly three-quarters of firms admit credit checking is not standard practice when they get a new customer. A spokesperson for CIF said this figure was "concerning" and points out that "legitimate, trustworthy clients" should not question the procedure.
