Late payments and recruitment freeze among small businesses
Over half of British firms report that late payments are now taking even longer and are planning to put a freeze on recruiting staff.
In the British Chambers of Commerce's (BCC's) Monthly Business Survey, 50.6% of businesses said it was taking longer for debtors to pay than it was three months ago. The survey also reveals that nearly 70% of respondents said they will not recruit staff over the next three months.
