Employers must publish pay rates under Equalities Bill
Employers will soon be required to publish how much they pay employees and reveal any pay gaps between men and women under the Government's Equalities Bill.
The Bill, which was published on 27 April, states that firms employing 250 staff or more will be required by law to publish hourly rates earned by their employees. Firms have until 2013 to voluntarily publish these pay rates. Minister for Equality Harriet Harman told the BBC that "old prejudices" must be tackled so that the economy can prosper.
