Government training scheme has "no impact" for small firms
Small businesses claim that the Government's Train to Gain service is having little impact in helping them during the recession, according to a recent survey.
The education and skills survey, carried out by the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) and training firm Nord Anglia Education, reveals that 42% of employers think the training programme, which offers advice and access to staff training courses, has had no impact on their business, while three-quarters rate the quality of the service as poor. The report also reveals that 40% of employers are worried about the basic skill levels of their staff, while over half are concerned about their employees' IT skills.
